Latin music charts have successfully passed the test of audience the world over. Some of the smash hits of all time have been produced by Latin musicians and singers. There are millions of audiences worldwide who have interest in Latin music. Music channels, music magazines, and music charts keep them abreast with the latest developments and releases. 2008 was a special year for Latin Music as some of the old artist re-entered the arena with new albums, it also saw the emergence of new talent. The year also saw many female performers contributing to Latin music. Here is the list of the hits from the Latin Music charts 2008 saw the emergence of music queen Ximena Sarinana. Her album ‘Mediocre’ has a good combination of pop and jazz music. Lila Down’s ‘Shake Away’ was a fine blend of Mexican mysticism and jazz. The Spanish version also won a Grammy award for the best music video. Shake your Bon Bon was released in the same year too. The song sung by Ricky Martin stood at number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, but topped some popular Latin music charts. The song ‘Latin lover’ created great impression among music critics when released in 1982. It was Gianna Nannini who sung it. The famous song ‘My Baby you’ maintained its position at the box-office for long. This pop song stood at number 70 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Maria Maria released in the year 1999 was a huge success; it reached the topmost position on the Billboard Hot 100 and hung on to it for ten weeks. The song sung by Santana also won the Grammy awards for the year 2000 for Best Pop performance. These Latin music charts have been great hits not only in Latin America but all over the world. Some of them were lively and bubbly and brought the listeners to the dance floor, while others were somber and described human emotions.
